Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 that He has come to fulfill the Law, and not to abolish it. Later, in Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus summarizes this by saying that we are to love God with all our hearts, and love our neighbors as ourselves.

In the book, Erik talks about two types of drill sergeants, and how they taught their recruits. One type taught by doing for their recruits. The other gave them specific instructions. Erik uses this to illustrate biblical teaching.
Why is it important to sit under godly teachers, but also to dig into the Word for ourselves?
Our learning about Jesus’ teachings should be a lifelong process. We need to pass along that knowledge to all within our scope of influence.
