I Know Who Holds My Hand

A message from our pastor:

“Many things about tomorrow,
I don’t seem to understand.
But, I know Who holds tomorrow,
and I know Who holds my hand.”
(by Ira Stanphill)

So says the beautiful hymn.

These words were certainly true of our world thirty days ago, but even more so since we’ve been dealing with COVID-19.

The Cure for Anxiety

The pandemic has brought many changes in our individual lives and the life of our church. But, Jesus understood this and spoke of it over two thousand years ago in the Sermon on the Mount. (Matthew 6:25-34) My Bible titles this passage “The Cure for Anxiety”. The passage certainly is a hopeful message for all of us. Verses 26-28 remind us that the Heavenly Father cares much more about His children than the birds of the air, or the lilies of the field.

The scripture also reminds us that worry doesn’t add anything to our lives, and only causes us harm. As believers and God’s children, let’s continue to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness. Also, as much as possible, let us attempt to follow the guidelines set forth by our local, state and national government leaders.

I hope we can meet again soon. Let us remain faithful and support one another in prayer.
